"MacGyver" (1985-92) How do you make a hand grenade from sticky-back plastic, a ping pong ball and 3 straws? Well, this is the show that took Blue Peter ideals and made it into full blown action men. Good, harmless fun as Mr Dean Anderson grew up and moved into the seemingly popular Stargate SG-1 (is that show popular? I'll probably get into it one of these days)

"B.J. and the Bear" (1979 - 81). A real rarity this - and I was real young at the time, so my memories are kinda vague. But it had a very young Greg Evigan - I figure he's the male version of Heather Locklear - seems to have been around forever and never grown old. Did i mention it also featured a pet monkey . LOL. I'm going to do a Glen A Larson tribute soon...

"Fall Guy, The" (1981-86) Tee hee. This was one dumb show. Probably why I watched it. Lee Majors, post Bionic Man. And he sings the theme tune (aah..one of the better theme tunes for that. heh heh).

"Magnum, P.I." (1980-88) Perfect TV time. This had everything the 80's was willing to give. Furry moustache, masses of chest hair, hawaiian shirts, tight jeans. But it was also very funny, well-acted and just great to watch (except, of course, for the final season)

Possibly the funniest spoof show ever? Possibly. Absolutely hilarious cop show - more than tilting its mocking hat to the lesser-funny 'hunter' - David Rasche deserves every award going for this. Still love it when a paper plane sticks to the head of Captain Trunk and remains there the rest of the episode. Stuck in the cave of late-night ITV - the fools.

"St. Elsewhere" (1982) Sheer Doc TV perfection. Who needs E.R? Pah. St Elsewhere beats it hands down. Fantastic characters, writers, actors. And William Daniels (doc Marc Craig) to boot - who was of course, the voice for KITT in Knight Rider.

Ahh - a real televisia obscura "Cutter to Houston" (1983) I think I was the only person on this planet that watched this...In fact, I wonder if even Alec Baldwin remembers it - but I do...it was the first thing I ever noticed Baldwin in - and then suddenly he was this big star. What really struck me about it was that everybody in it seemed to have blue eyes - even the supporting characters...anyway, great cast and great fun - it was like a US Flying Doctors or something...

"Remington Steele" (1982-87). Now this was one classy show. heh heh. It introduced a pre-007 Pierce 'how much hair do I have in this show?' Brosnan to the world - which is no bad thing. The biggest mistake though was the final series - complete with Jack Scalia (you know something's going downhill when he appears). But great stories and writing...

Its classic time. But what can be said about this little unknown programme?"Dallas" (1978-91). I watched it for quite a while. Then I stopped. But I could always play the theme tune with one finger on my bontempi keyboard.

Ah yes! "Whiz Kids" (1983-4). I can't believe it. I'm so excited just at remembering this. I used to love this show. I think I was the only person that watched it!. It wasn't on for long but it was sooo cool. Oh yes. I had geek inclinations even then.

Thought I'd start my rundown of great (!) TV memories, with this little-known classic: "Matt Houston" ('82-'85) Anyone remember it? heh heh. I do of course. It starred the impressive moustache of Lee Horsley - soon to promote himself to the C league of Danielle Steele movies and wonderfully bad Western show 'Paradise' (yep, watched that too). This little 'can't be missed' nugget of a detective show was on late night BBC1. And yes, I absolutely loved it :-)

Ok. Current fixation is Babylon 5. I know its 6 years old or so...but I kicked myself for not watching it originally.
So the dialogue is sometimes so trite you can see the actors cringe..and yes, some of the supporting actors just, well, can't act (did I hear someone mention Michael York? aaargh). But all in all, its a fascinating show that's a darn site better than Trek NG or indeed any of the other ones that copied afterward....and oh yes, that sheridan and garibaldi are so damn cute..
